History

Arkansas Health Care Association was established in 1951 and is the state's largest organization of long term care providers.

Arkansas has made great strides in recent years and has been nationally recognized as a leader in nursing home quality. These improvements were due in large part to the voluntary efforts of facility staff, administrators and advisory panels.

• Arkansas boast the lowest national percentage of acute pain patients.

• In a recent regional comparison - including Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas - Arkansas was the only state scoring at or above average in all 15 areas.

• Arkansas was the first state to achieve 100% participation in the Advancing Excellence in America's Nursing Home initiative, set forth by the American Health Care Association.
